Title: "The Crisis of the Transatlantic Relationship and the Limits of European Dependence"
Author: Leandro G. Caporale

Abstract: The article examines the contemporary crisis of the transatlantic relationship in light of Donald Trump's return to the Presidency of the United States, interpreting it as a symptom of a broader structural transformation of the international order, marked by the erosion of liberal multilateralism and the intensification of great-power rivalry. It argues that this context exposes the limits of European strategic dependence and tuns strategic autonomy into a pragmatic imperative. Furthermore, it maintains that Latin America emerges as a central partner in this process, offering normative and political foundations for a more balanced form of cooperation. It concludes that, in an international order undergoing reconfiguration, the fundamental choice facing Europe and Latin America lies between reproducing structural dependencies and jointly building greater capacity for strategic choice and global influence.
